We’re so excited to officially introduce Samantha aka Sam to our clients and friends!

Sam is 23, a Yulee native, and has been holding it down as our receptionist since late October. If you’ve called the salon, checked in ...for an appointment, or been greeted with a smile when you walk through the door… you’ve already met her 🤍

She’s always had a creative heart and was that friend everyone called when it was time to get ready. What started as a passion quickly turned into a calling because for Sam, it’s not just about hair, it’s about helping people feel confident and seen.

Sam officially started beauty school at Aveda today and we could not be more excited or proud to cheer her on as she takes this next step in her journey!

We know the word mentorship may be scary but
for transparency, here’s how our program at Moxie Salon & Spa works:

Our Licensed Stylist in mentorship, Aliyah, is a fully licensed cosmetologist in the state of Florida.
• She began cosmetology school in August two years ago
• Graduated this past August
• Took and passed her State Board exam immediately
• Received her license in August
• Joined Moxie shortly after as a licensed stylist

Under Florida law, a licensed cosmetologist is legally permitted to perform services in a salon. Our program is used as advanced training for newly licensed professionals.

What sets us apart is not what we’re allowed to do but it’s what we choose to do.

Rather than placing newly licensed stylists straight on the floor, we operate a tiered, education-forward system:
• Hands-on continued education with experienced stylists
• In-salon classes and mentorship
• Skill evaluations with ownership before servicing clients
• A gradual, confident transition to the floor

Only after meeting our internal standards do our Licensed Stylist in mentorship work with clients at a discounted rate while remaining FULY LICENSED the entire time.

This approach isn’t about cutting corners. It’s about raising the bar. This isn’t about meeting the minimum.It’s about exceeding it.
